Who are we?
Tegusad Eesti Noored (‘Active Estonian Youth’) is an organisation active all over Estonia founded and managed by young people. Our primary goal is providing civic education and opportunities of self-initiative to Estonian youth, on regional, national and European levels. We are the official representative organisation in Estonia of the European Youth Parliament.
Our core values
As a non-formal educational organisation, both TEN and the EYP aim to inspire and empower young Europeans, no matter their gender, ethnicity, nationality, socio-economic status or ability. We put an emphasis on areas of outreach, mobility and regional representation.
Through their participation in TEN and the EYP, young Europeans gain valuable skills, knowledge and confidence and are empowered to have an impact in society. As an organisation for civic education, we seek to equip its members with transversal skills that formal education often does not provide.
TEN and the EYP are organised by young people, for young people; it is built on the work of young volunteers all over Estonia and Europe. TEN and the EYP not only simulate democratic processes during its events, but also apply them in the running of the organisation.
European Youth Parliament (EYP)
TEN is the official representative organisation of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) in Estonia, organising several EYP events in Estonia every year. The EYP is a peer-to-peer educational programme that brings together young people from across Europe to debate the pressing issues of our time. EYP’s mission is to inspire and empower young Europeans to be open-minded, tolerant and active citizens.
What do we do?
Every year, TEN organises a number of different events – European Youth Parliament Forums and Sessions, public panel debates and discussions, as well as other youth initiatives, all with the common aim of providing a platform for young people to discuss important matters and issues in European society.
20 Years of Engagement
TEN was founded in the year 2000. Since then, we have hosted hundreds of events where youth from Estonia and all over Europe have met and discussed on important topics, gained experience in leadership and organisation and made personal connections and memories that last a lifetime.

The Executive Board
The Executive Board of TEN is mainly active in the day-to-day running of the organisation – supporting our members, organising events, communicating with our partners and attending to financial and legal matters. Here are the wonderful people that make it happen:
Regional Development Coordinator
TEN/EYP in your words:
“I am honored to be a patron of the European Youth Parliament. I want to highlight my appreciation for the millions of young people who are engaged in building a vital space for dialogue, inclusion and cooperation, showing attention to issues of crucial importance for our future and that of the EU.”
David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, Patron of the European Youth Parliament
“I am very happy to be a patron of the EYP. They offer many young Europeans a chance to develop and exchange their ideas, share best practices and bring them closer to each other. That’s what we will need to build the Europe of tomorrow.”Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Patron of the European Youth Parliament
“TEN and EYP have taught me to be much more open when meeting new people. If before I would rather be by myself and wait until someone would talk to me, then now I can say that I am comfortably able to initiate conversation myself as well. Joining TEN was one of the best decisions of my life.”
Doloores Orav, High school student, TEN Member since 2017
“In TEN and EYP I realised that I could not only achieve things out of the ordinary but also immensely enjoy doing them. It’s an organisation that empowers young people to strive for more, gives them the tools to get there and supports them in the process. I have invested 10 years of my life into this organisation, it has shaped the way I interact with the world and I’m all the better for it.”
Anastasia Lemberg-Lvova, Visual artist, TEN member since 2010
“I think what TEN and EYP have given me the most is perspective. Perspective how those around me are similar to me, how they are different and perspective on how important it is to discuss face-to-face on issues that impact us all. Without TEN, I would not be the person I was today.”
Frank Üksvärav, International Relations student, TEN member since 2015
